Job description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Data entry of wastewater testing reports into WWSS and city water report as required by WW permits
  • Gather samples from WW, send to testing lab, adjust chemical treatment as needed
  • Test samples for PH, COD, DO, and other testing media
  • Preventative maintenance of wastewater pumps, sprayers, etc.,
  • Monthly, quarterly, and yearly preventative maintenance of all machinery and equipment in wastewater location
  • Daily, quarterly, and monthly inspections to maintain Environmental Groundwater Discharge Permit, SWPP and SPCCP for Fennville site
  • Maintain wastewater lagoons, spray fields, and/or other Conagra owned property as needed.
  • Demonstrate behaviors in support of company safety procedures with focus on zero injuries. Keep work areas and equipment clean and safe.
  • Follow and comply with all Safe Quality Food (SQF), HACCP, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s).
  • Follow and comply to OSHA requirements for Respiratory equipment. “Personal protective equipment shall be worn in such a manner that does not interfere with the seal of the facepiece to the face of the user.” “Tight-fitting respirators shall not be worn by employees who have facial hair or any condition that interferes with the face-to-facepiece seal or valve function.”
  • Perform all work conforming to Conagra Foods, federal, state, and local standards and codes.
  • Exhibit flexibility when required for special projects or any areas of the facility when needed.
  • Perform other duties and assume additional responsibilities as assigned by Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent with the equivalent of high school chemistry
  • May take 5 years operating experience in leu of chemistry courses
  • Must be able to perform arithmetic calculations necessary to operate the waste treatment or control facility
  • All applicable wastewater licenses, or the ability to obtain within 18 months of starting bid
  • State of MI Stormwater Operator certification or the ability to obtain within 6 months of starting bid
  • Haz-Mat training
  • Assist in coordination of Haz-Mat response with designated 3rd party response unit
  • Must be able to effectively use the English language, in verbal or written form
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interpret work instructions and safety rules
  • Able to lift 40 pounds consistently
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time, including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, and twisting over surfaces
  • Willing and able to work any shift schedule, including nights and weekends
  • Willing and able to adhere to all safety standards and wear all necessary personal protective equipment
  • Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment
  • Positive team player
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making ability
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently

Strongly preferred working knowledge and/or experience in:
  • Minimum of 2 years of Industrial Wastewater treatment
  • Minimum 2 years of utilities experience
  • Professional experience in a manufacturing environment or food products industry, preferred
