We have an opening for a Treatment Plant Specialist II.
Wastewater Treatment Plant Specialist II
Hourly wage: $23.47 to $29.70
The primary duties of this position include: learning and performing daily operations, learn and perform sampling, and analyzing processes to determine regulatory compliance, and recommending process adjustments, completing and compiling computer based data and files, interpreting regulations, performing customer service and fabrication. Incumbents create and update maintenance records, and operate hand and power tools and light equipment. Duties at this level will be performed under the guidance of a higher level classification.

This position is covered in the Teamster bargaining contract and incumbents must live within a 30 minute drive of their regularly assigned work site.

Minimum Qualifications
Wastewater Treatment Plant Specialist II:

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required with additional coursework in chemistry, biology or science (for operations) preferred, 1 year of specialized or technical training and 2 years of directly related experience in a treatment plant environment are required. An Associate’s degree in a related field is desirable.

Licensing Requirements:

  • Valid Oregon Driver’s License Class C
  • OR DEQ Wastewate (Download PDF reader)r Treatment II Certificate, preference for a level III
  • Forklift Certificate

Incumbents may be required to obtain CPR certification and Confined Space Entrant, Attendant and/or Supervisor Certification. Incumbents must be in possession of or have the ability to obtain any certification or license required by City, State or Federal agencies to work in assigned position.

Ranking and Selection
