Job description

The primary function of the incumbent will be to implement land management tasks Routine duties include: • Weekly site visits to high use dispersed recreation site with interactions with stakeholders regarding rules of public lands • Picking up dispersed sites and other public use areas • Assessments of public lands and assets • Performing NEPA assessments of proposed shoreline construction sites to identify and document potential biological and cultural resource impacts as well as navigation and other programmatic concerns

Entering task completed and inventory inspections into database systems and GIS software • Coordinating project descriptions of applicant proposals with expert reviewer

Training position with developmental assignments made to familiarize the incumbent with a broad range of watershed operations teams functions. With increasing experience, the incumbent’s duties will expand to encompass greater responsibility in the Resource Stewardship process areas. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: • Assist in assessing Company managed lands and conducting inventory with GIS programs. • Assist in completing identified task to include dispersed rec site checks and cleaning, boundary marking, chainsaw work, prescribed fire and shoreline inspections on managed lands. • Assist in establishing partnerships with a diverse array of individuals, groups, and agencies to solve water quality and land use issues. • Evaluate shoreline management requests seeking alignment with watershed improvement and cultural protection goals. • Support implementation of shoreline improvement projects, resource management and recreational projects as outlined in performance plans.

Education and Experience

Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in environmental science, aquatic ecology, limnology, natural resource management, or closely related field or equivalent experience.
