Weekend Maintenance Technician – Full Time

The purpose of this position is to implement facility maintenance policies and procedures in an efficient, cost-effective manner to safely meet resident’s needs and to provide functional, sanitary, safe, and comfortable environment, in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for building wide maintenance, including responding to a daily list of work orders and requests from residents. Thus, it's essential that the tech be able to communicate clearly and respond quickly. Key to success in this role will be a commitment to outstanding resident care, a friendly attitude, and the ability to prioritize tasks as they arise.

Requirements:

• Must be vaccinated against COVID 19 with current up to date record or have a qualifying medical or religious exemption.
• Minimum three years maintenance work experience, preferable in a health care setting
• High school diploma or GED equivalency
• Working knowledge of some maintenance activities like electrical, plumbing, or painting.
• Previous experience in a position that involved interacting with the public, like food service, retail work, etc.

Preferences:

• Knowledge and skills in all maintenance activities including electrical, plumbing and painting
• Preference given for experience in property or health care facility maintenance

Machines, tools, equipment and work aids:

• Air conditioners, compressors, gages, generator, heaters, mechanical tools, motors, nursing equipment, plumbing tools, telephone, miscellaneous maintenance and cleaning equipment and supplies.

Physical demands and working conditions:

• Essential functions of the job routinely requires ample strength and agility to clime ladders, stoop over and bend and to lift materials to successfully complete work assignments. A maintenance technician must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Talking and listening are essential in dealing with other personnel and residents.
• Work is indoors and outdoors.
• Must be independent to commute between properties as well as available when needed.

Shifts/Hours/Schedules:

• Fridays 9:00am – 7:30pm
• Saturdays Sundays 6:00am – 7:30pm

Compensation:
The starting pay rate for this position is $17.00 per hour and may increase with years of experience and skill level and annual pay raises in January of each year thereafter.
