4th Shift Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician

Shift: Friday - Sunday
Reporting to Maintenance Supervisor
The maintenance employee is responsible for maintaining and repairing machine and equipment within the plant. Works on assigned projects within all areas of the plant. Ensure machines are running at optimum with minimal down time related from machine mechanical or electrical failures. Maintain building and grounds. Must have some electrical knowledge

JOB FUNCTIONS: Job functions include but are not limited to the following.
· Ability to operate material handling equipment, including hand trucks, fork truck and any aerial lifts in a safe manner.
· Ability to diagnosis mechanical or electrical issues to perform needed repair or involve the proper resources.
· Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks to keep machines running
· Ability to identify and order needed parts or equipment
· Ability to perform preventive maintenance on all equipment
· Ability to utilize all machine shops tools and equipment to perform basic fabrication as needed
· Ability to stay organized and focused on assigned projects

Additional Duties

· Maintain housekeeping within the maintenance shop
· Responsible for proper lock up and opening of the plant involving the security, boilers and air compressors
· On call for break downs that occur after their normal shift
· Other duties as assigned

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have be accurate and precise, ability to use ruler, able to lift 50 lbs or less, be a good communicator, have strong mechanical skills, ability to read blueprints or manuals and be a problem solver. The individual must be capable of operating without direct supervision. All new hires must have High school diploma or equivalent.

· Electrical knowledge is required, electrical license is a huge plus

Safety Policies and Practices
All employees are required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, hair nets, beard nets and steel toe shoes. No jewelry or facial piercings are allowed while in the manufacturing area. Rules for employee conduct are covered in the employee orientation and in the employee handbook. To operate a hand truck, fork truck, reach truck and clamp truck the employee needs to be licensed within a responsible time period. During this period, the trainer is responsible for the trainee’s safety in the operation of these trucks.
