NiteHawk is currently seeking a Welder to join our company. This integral team member assemblers and installs the mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems that result in a completed NiteHawk sweeper unit. With a team of fabricators and other assemblers, this individual sees the build of every sweeper truck from start to finish, following technical instructions to ensure that each unit meets our quality standards, customer requirements, and production deadlines. Our welding team works 4-10 hours shifts Monday-Thursday from 6:00am to 4:30pm, so you get a 3-day weekend every single week! NiteHawk Sweepers is a fast moving, high energy manufacturer of parking lot sweepers in Kent, Washington, just south of Seattle. Essential Functions of the Job:
- Prioritize safety at all times.
- Locate parts, gather materials, and follow work orders for various stages of assembly process.
- Complete assembly and installation tasks including chassis preparation and installation of fenders, mud flaps, tool boxes, doors, and unit options.
- Assist other assemblers in fan assembly, reservoir fit out, hydraulic and hose installation, electrical systems, engine modifications, and in-cab controls.
- Track installation progress and take corrective action to solve problems.
- May be trained to operate a forklift, hoist, and/or overhead crane to support movement and positioning of parts and inventory.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA’s):
- High school diploma or GED certificate required. Two-year college degree or associated training preferred.
- Basic knowledge of the use of hand and power tools including drills, riveters, and hydraulic crimping machine.
- Ability to read technical instructions, blue prints, drawings, and owner’s manuals.
- Good manual dexterity; mechanically inclined.
- Basic knowledge of the use of web browser and computer applications.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, problem solve and meet deadlines.
- Able to work occasional overtime to meet production schedule.
- Able to work on a team and independently.
- Take pride in products you build and enjoy participating in complete production process.
Working Conditions:
Work performed in a metal manufacturing production environment. PPE must be worn at all times. Occasional lifting/pushing of 50 pounds independently and 50+ pounds with a partner. Occasional stooping, reaching, and/or bending around metal fabricated parts. Primary duties require sufficient manual dexterity and visual/auditory acuity to operate production equipment.
