Description: PTR – Precision Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a Welder/Fabricator to join our Manufacturing department. This position is responsible for welding and fabricating assemblies, in addition to mechanical assembly of fabricated details. We are looking for a well-rounded individual. The person in this role will need to use a variety of welding and fabrication methods in the production of our equipment. This is not your typical welding shop! PTR prides itself on a clean, organized working experience.
PTR-Precision Technologies, Inc. is a member of the Global Beam Technologies group, the largest manufacturer of electron beam welding and drilling systems in the world. PTR manufactures Electron Beam Welding Systems for the North American market and provides process development, service, training, and job shop EB welding services at our Enfield, CT plant.
Responsibilities:

• Fabricates and assembles components using blueprints, operating sheets, and sketches
• Manufactures sheet metal guards to blueprints
• Performs mechanical assembly of machine tool equipment and lead fabrication
• Performs sub-assemblies and final assemblies
• Performs some leading and leak checking
• Provides assistance to operators with mechanical problems
• Travels to customer sites as necessary
• Performs other duties as necessary or assigned

Qualifications and Skills: *

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 5 years of welding and sheet metal experience
• Experience with MIG/TIG welding
• Proficient at reading blueprints
• Mechanical ability
• Working knowledge of hand and power tools
• Self-motivated
