Michigan Gas Utilities delivers natural gas to customers in southern and western Michigan.
Michigan Gas Utilities, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Welder - USW in our Benton Harbor, Michigan location.
Job Summary
Pipeline welding and fabrication welding of pipeline facilities. May also perform maintenance welding on equipment as directed. When not welding may perform functions of a crew leader or other members of a crew. May also perform general building maintenance or other duties as assigned. Maintain MGU welder certification.
Job Responsibilities
- Performs various pipeline welding operations including pipeline installations, gas regulating structures, meter installations, pipeline maintenance welding and other maintenance welding as required.
- Perform work as assigned as either a crew leader directing a crew to perform maintenance on pipelines and structures or individually assigned to perform operating or maintenance functions on pipelines, structure installations or meter installations.
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, HSED or GED.
- 1+ years plumbing and/or pipe fitting experience.
- 1+ years pipeline welding procedures experience.
- 1+ years current or previous certification on Pipeline welding API 1104.
- Commercial drivers license required within 90 days.
- PE fusion certification required within 90 days.
- Welding for the Trades certification required within 90 days
