The Wellness Manager for Brightview Senior Living serves as the corporate champion of associate health and well-being and supports the mission of being a "Great Place to Work" by offering robust health and wellness benefits to all 5000+ of our associates. Brightview is a growing, privately- held company based out of Baltimore, MD that owns, develops and manages over 45 high-end Independent Living, Assisted Living and Memory Care communities in 8 states throughout the Mid- Atlantic, New York Metro and New England markets.

In this role you will work proactively to promote, manage, and maximize the return on investment in the company's multimillion dollar benefit programs and will provide strategic direction to integrate a culture of wellness throughout the organization and across all functional teams in some of the following ways:

  • Implement disease management programs to prevent and manage chronic conditions.
  • Direct third-party wellness and medical plan vendors to increase adoption of healthy behaviors, health consumerism tools and cost-savings programs.
  • Create Open Enrollment messaging and communication for all benefits-eligible associates and oversee the execution of company-wide benefits education.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Recruitment to promote Brightview's culture of wellness as a unique marketing platform and industry differentiator to current and prospective associates, residents and resident families.
  • Partner with Brightview University to include the culture of wellness in associate trainings and new hire protocols.
  • Develop and execute varied and meaningful wellness programs, events, campaigns, competitions and other initiatives that appeal to a diverse range of associates to promote well-being and the SPICE model of wellness.
  • Coordinate teams of community wellness coaches to execute company-wide wellness campaigns.
  • Partner with the Employee Assistance Program to address the unique mental and emotional wellness needs of caregivers and promote counseling and resources.
  • Develop and distribute communication materials to associates and dependents on wellness-related topics to heighten awareness, appreciation, and usage of programs and resources.

Desired background and experience for the Wellness Manager at Brightview:

  • Bachelor's degree with areas of study in worksite health promotion, health behavior/health education, public health, healthcare administration, exercise/nutrition science, health informatics or related field. Maste'rs degree would be a plus.
  • Current Health Education Specialist certification (CHES).
  • Minimum of five years' experience in worksite wellness to include demonstrated skill in planning, implementing, and coordinating health promotion strategies to a diverse target audience.
  • Experience in administering self-funded health plans, implementing health consumerism tools and managing third-party health plan vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to encourage and motivate others through personal example of self-care, healthy behaviors, and a wellness mindset.
  • Knowledge of current health promotion/behavior theories and practices, health risk and cost relationships, evaluation methods, policies and trends.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet-based applications including web conferencing.
  • Excellent written communication skills including proper grammar and professional writing.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to connect and communication effectively with associates of all levels.
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize data from a variety of sources and to apply reason, logic, and advanced problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues.
  • Ability to speak in front of large and diverse audiences.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to be on-site at communities, including some out-of-state travel, up to 30% of the time.
