_Southside Medical Center, Inc. (SMC) was founded in 1967 as the Atlanta Southside Comprehensive Health Center. We are a federally qualified health center (FQHC) that provides primary health care and related services to the medically underserved and uninsured.
SMC has 12 locations across the state of Georgia. Our main Center is located near the Georgia State Football Stadium in Fulton County. We also have two other locations in Fulton County; one at Dobbs Elementary School and the other in East Point. We have two locations in Dekalb County on Gresham Road and in Decatur, and three locations in Clayton County in Lovejoy, Riverdale and Forest Park. One location in Gwinnett County in Norcross, and a location in both Spalding and Butts Counties, Duluth, and our newest location, Cleveland Immediate Care in East Point.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

Reports directly to the Marketing Director. Assures appropriate workflows by training, mentoring, and evaluating assigned Workflow Monitor and Community Health Worker positions to correlate with revenue cycle needs and the Triple Aim (patient health improvement, patient satisfaction, and cost reduction across the spectrum of healthcare).

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

  • Learn assigned oversight positions and provide comprehensive guidance to Community Health Workers (CHWs) and Workflow Monitors
  • Maintain collaborative guidance and communication with Site Mangers, Quality Assurance Director, and Satellite Director (Administrative Huddles 2x weekly, initially)
  • Trains, mentors, and evaluates team (CHWs and Workflow Monitors)
  • Provide reports/feedback 2x weekly (initially) to the Marketing Director, Quality Assurance Director, and Satellite Director through huddles (then titrate check-ins to 1x weekly and 1x monthly)
  • Support clean workflow during peak times for select areas (enhance telemedicine utilization)
  • Fill or personally serve as coverage for Workflow Monitor roles when someone is out
  • Assure Perception Surveys to assess Workflow Monitors
  • Encourage positive social media reviews
  • Serve as a key support role for special events (patient engagement)
  • Develop and implement effective processes and procedures to support assigned efforts/projects
  • Establish and maintain tracking processes and timelines
  • Respond to questions and requests from internal and external customers; communicates with patients and staff in a positive manner; resolves issues fairly and consistently
  • Required to travel between sites
  • Perform other related duties as required or requested.

Knowledge, Skills & Responsibilities:

  • One-year Medical Assistant (MA) experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate
  • Microsoft Office skills, knowledge and use of computers and multiple programs for daily work and projects
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of information to include protected health information
  • Ability to work as a member of a team and promote teamwork with other staff members
  • Ability to work with patients in a compassionate, non-judgmental manner to provide care, patience, and understanding
  • Ability to work and act independently
  • Understanding of the potential business impact of social media
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Familiarity with all emergency, medical equipment and supplies.
  • Has the ability to relate to the health needs of the client.
  • Has the ability to read and understand health care charting and medical procedures.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree or two years experience in a business setting; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is performed in a medical/clinical environment. Physical requirements include sitting and standing for extended periods of time, walking, bending, stooping, and lifting books and files of approximated 35 pounds or less. Work is not likely to result in predictable or unpredictable exposure to blood or other body fluids.
