Disney CreativeWorks is responsible for the overall creative vision of The Walt Disney Company’s advertising sales through ideation, development and execution of leading-edge, innovative and enticing client-focused programs – directly leading to incremental revenue

This role works with the world’s top brands to combine their products/services with our shows/characters to make branded content and advertisements. This role specifically focuses on the IP from the ABC Network.

Put in simple terms, this role comes up with sellable ideas that combine ABC shows with brands, pitches the concepts to advertising partners, and then produces them if they are sold.

The role is divided into two important facets:

When acting as writer, you must possess a well-tuned, expert writing prowess, and should be able and eager to naturally and clearly express ideas (both their own and other’s) in all writing formats and through varying voices. This includes treatments, pitches, presentations, summaries, and scripts. FinalDraft scriptwriting experience is a plus. Additionally, you must effectively lead brainstorms, nurture and grow others’ ideas, and cultivate creative thinking among others.

When acting as producer, you are solely in charge of pre-production, production, and post-production of all branded content initiatives at DMED. Physical production shoots have budgets ranging from $100,000 - $1,000,000+ You must be an expert on-set, being able to wear all hats and solve sensitive problems quickly and smartly. Interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with all groups within and outside the Disney organization are crucial.
This position will participate in the strategic creation and execution of custom branded content across social and digital media platforms for ad partners, in concert with our content and sales teams.

Responsibilities :

  • Write, produce, edit, and direct exciting and shareable, social/digital content that will break out in the social/digital environment and drive revenue.

  • Lead Creative meetings and brainstorm sessions with a “social first” POV.

  • Strategize with internal teams to strategize and brainstorm based on proactive ideas and RFPs

  • Collaborate with our Sales/Hub/Content teams or clients/agencies to ensure the brand’s needs are met through clear and open communication

  • Represent the Creative Team in external and internal meetings with executives and agency leads.

  • Hire and manage production teams (internal and external) to determine budget and resources needed.

  • Ensure that our show’s brand voice and aesthetic is maintained in all branded video efforts.

  • Be the critical resource for the Sales teams by providing sellable intellectual product.

  • Actively build the reputation of the Creative Group with the ability to not only stay abreast, but to “see ahead” of consumer trends, societal moods, and advertising themes, and translate these into creative opportunities that sponsors cannot ignore.

  • Maintain a repertoire of, and relationships with, outside creative agencies (production houses, post houses, photographers, etc.) and align specific vendors with respective projects for the highest quality content at the lowest cost.

  • Protect the invaluable brand of Disney by knowing how and when to leverage our IP for a sponsor, while compromising neither brand and ideally enhancing both.

  • Manage multiple stakeholders (Agency, Legal, Marketing, Publicity, etc.) to efficiently complete projects on-time and on-budget.


Basic Qualifications :

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience in production, promotion, consumer marketing or creative agency with content creation responsibilities, proven financial results and creative recognition

  • In depth knowledge of Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, TikTok and Facebook

  • Must be able to not only speak the language of an advertising agency, but translate and articulate it in a production environment

  • Exemplary written communication skills, including formatted narrative scripting, creative treatments, pitches, and more

  • Superior and persuasive pitching/presentation skills with the ability to “read the room” and tailor your pitch to the intended audience

  • Working knowledge of, and parlance in, multiple forms of creative expression including graphic design, animation, storyboarding, music scoring, etc.

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Exceptional storytelling and writing expertise

  • Strong interpersonal skills

  • Understand all aspects of production (pre through post)

  • Able to be effective in a matrixed environment

  • Well-developed organizational skills & project management
