Position: Youth and Family Ministry Director

Hours: 25 hours per week

St Michael Lutheran Church (ELCA) is seeking a part time youth and family ministry director to work with our current middle school and high school youth as well as to plan activities for families of our elementary, middle, and high school youth.

We are looking for a creative, outgoing, energetic, and engaging person to plan activities and grow our middle and high school youth groups. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for planning fun and creative events for families of children of all ages.

Job Skills Required:

- Excellent communication skills

- Willingness to work as a team

- Support and knowledge of our core beliefs as an

Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) congregation

- Experience in youth and family ministry is a plus

- An understanding and appreciation of as well as a connection to a Christian community.

Duties of the position:

Planning and running bi-weekly youth group meetings

Planning monthly events for families

Being a role model in faith and a source of guidance for our youth

Coordinate and attend summer youth mission trips/ ELCA youth gatherings

Coordinate and plan opportunities for service in the community

Plan fun and creative social as well as faith based activities for youth

Working with the senior pastor to plan and run an annual youth retreat

Salary: $30k/ year

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $30,000.00 per year
