This is a 2nd shift opening. The hours are from 4PM to Midnight. Overtime is required, as needed.

Job Summary

The Maintenance Loom Technician is responsible for the overall condition and operation of the machines on their assigned team lay-out, maintaining their condition with the lowest possible supply cost, and to produce a maximum quality of fabric, at a minimum loss of efficiency. The LMT is responsible for correcting all mechanical malfunctions of the looms, make periodic maintenance inspections on looms within the assignment, replace broken or worn parts as necessary, diagnose machine problems and make adjustments and repairs.

Duties

  • Must be safety conscious at all times, abiding by all plant / department safety rules, and the Job Safety Health Analysis pertaining to the job.
  • Report all accidents, unsafe condition, and hazards: no matter how small.
  • Perform maintenance inspections on assigned looms according to the maintenance schedule.
  • Patrol job lay-out inspecting condition of job at shift change.
  • Check machine flags, diagnosing problem and correcting, work on machines that requires the least amount of time first.
  • Perform maintenance inspections on loom randomly, preparing machines for routine audit inspections, and then correct tags written.
  • Replace all worn and bad parts, make corrections on the machine as needed.
  • Perform pre-warp checkout on warped out machines in accordance to the warp-out checklist.
  • Set machines up in accordance to specifications of new warp Construction sheets & SOC. Start up new warps and tie backs in accordance to specifications of new warp Construction sheet, warp-out checklists and SOC.
  • Check that the filling yarn code on bobbin labels and filling tickets on the machines are in accordance with specifications of the Construction sheet, if not, have removed from the loom. Have weaver scan yarn if Kevlar (Dupont)
  • Remove defective filling yarn from the machine, attach nonconforming tag and place beside loom, fill out a new warp check off list, and then Key in CIM for Doffer
  • View selective rolls of fabric upon request with Shift Support, weaver, and the cloth inspector in inspection department, then return to the machine to see if the problem still exists.
  • Report quality related problems of warps and fabric that cannot be corrected.
  • Report any machines requiring overhaul maintenance, and record on the overhaul board.
  • Perform routine housekeeping around work area, keeping floor free of oil, grease, old machine parts, and rags.
  • Clean gear parts as needed at station at Dornier looms

Requirements

Must be able to read, understand, & follow written Instructions, construction sheet, and weave draft. Must Be Able to Lift Moderate Weight. Constant Bending, Standing, and Pulling.

2+ of both Weaving and previous maintenance experience required.
