Job Description

Position Summary:


Operates a variety of material handling equipment and maintain inventory accuracy in the system, able to perform, lead and train employes on the key functions of the materials team


Scope/Supervision & Interaction


This job has no supervisor responsibilities. Must be able to interact with and lead other associates on a consistent basis.


Essential Functions:


1. Arrive at work one half hour prior to shift start. Responsible for ensuring efficient start up of materials team to support the production cells by:

a. Conduct a materials team start up meeting covering S,Q,D,C daily topics

b. Ensure the required materials are delivered to each work station

c. Materials associates in place ready to begin work on time (shift start, returning from lunch and breaks)

d. Conducting team huddle in supervisor absence

e. Conduct layered audits on a daily basis of safety, inventory and processes.


2. Stay one half hour beyond shift end to ensure organization of materials at each production cell are in place to support the next shift planned jobs. Discuss the day’s issues / opportunities with supervisor if not addressed during the shift.


3. Ensure EHS practices are followed throughout all materials areas. Correct issues as they arise. Documentation of near miss occurrences, lead A3 problem solving process to prevent recurrences.


Qualifications


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential dutiy satisfactorily .


Education and Experience


High school diploma or general education degree (GED): at least 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


Typical Physical and Mental Demands


While performing the essential functions of this job, the associate will be required to walk, talk,or hear. Will be required to stand, sit and reach with both hands and arms. The emoloyee will occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Normal weigh to be lifted or moved is between 0 and 35 pounds.


While peforming the essential functions of this job the associate couldl be exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level is the work environment is usually moderate.
