Job Posting: Flame Spray Operator
As a Flame Spray Operator your goal is to perform a HVOF, plasma and/or other thermal spray coating operations per customer requirements and job folder specification.
You will do this by:
- Dete pre-coating requirements have been completed according to job folder specification.
- Record and sign off on all applicable data defined in the job folder
- Report all coating problems, inaccuracies in job folder, damaged parts and/or tooling and fixtures to Thermal Spray Lead
- Make appropriate use of coating materials, equipment and documentation
- Follow in-process inspection procedures as needed to verify current operation meets customer and technical plan requirements
- Observe all Environmental, Health and Safety Policy requirements:
- Keeping work area neat and orderly at all times
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Wearing appropriate respiratory gear when in the flame spray booth
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Good attendance
- Ability to use basic math to analyze information and measuring equipment
- Ability to work safely and efficiently
- Ability to work with close tolerances
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction and written processes
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., repeatedly
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical certificate or associates degree
- Previous Plasma and/or HVOF spray experience
- Familiarity with large multi-axis robotics and associated programming tools
- Advanced documentation and computer skills
Additional Knowledge & Skills:
- Ability to read a tape measure
- Ability to read check sheets
- Ability to use special micrometers and gauges
- Ability to work safely and efficiently
- Ability to work with close tolerances
- Ability to work in a team and independently
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instruction and written processes
- Ability to lift 50lbs repeatedly
Physical | Visual Demands:
- Ability to stand 8-12 hours a day
- Sit, stand, squat, bend
- Reach overhead with one or both arms
- Repetitive movement of lifting and placing parts on machines / up to 15 pounds.
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to occasionally push/pull up to 75 pounds
Work Environment:
- Loud (Examples: metal can manufacturing department, large earth moving equipment)

Shift/Hours/Days: Sunday- Thursday 10pm-6am with overtime on Fridays
