About Us:

For over 20 years, Techy Joe’s Computer Solutions, LLC has been a premier provider of assistive technology and training for users of accessibility. We excel in bringing greater independence to each individual that we serve by providing assessments, testing, technology integration and training services.

We serve a diverse community of individuals including military personnel, business professionals, college students, children and older adults. Our clients include private companies, individuals, state and federal government entities, and non-profit agencies. We provide assistive technology solutions for a variety of disability areas including vision loss, physical disabilities, hearing loss, cognitive challenges, traumatic brain injuries, learning disabilities or other related conditions and injuries.

Job Type:

We are looking for a company that will sub-contract with Techy Joe’s Computer Solutions, LLC and provide services both in person and remotely to our clients and their consumers in the field. Your company will need to be an established LLC or Inc. You’ll be required to sign a business agreement which will define the specific details of our working agreement/business relationship.

Services will be provided by your company using your own tools, establishing your own schedule, and working as many or as few hours as needed to reach successful outcomes.

Your company will have the option to choose which referrals you would like to accept based on your company's specific areas of expertise, hours of availability, etc.

Our company is often compensated several weeks or even months after we submit an invoice for the services provided. However, as a subcontractor, your company will always be paid monthly for successfully completed services via ACH transfer directly to your company's business account. This reduces the risk that your company has with regards to collections, and improves your cash flow and also your profitability.

Note: Travel compensation for Northern Colorado work is available and we will discuss details during interviews.

Summary of services include:

  • Traveling to several locations to provide services

  • Providing on-site and remote equipment demonstrations and assessments for the purpose of evaluating people with disabilities (onsite/remote)
  • Pickup and delivery of equipment to the clients’ homes or places of employment

  • Adapting to various learning styles and training approaches as needed to reach successful outcomes with our clients
  • Maintaining written logs/reports of progress and job statuses as you work with clients
  • Continuing to self-educate in order to stay current with general IT and Assistive Technology upgrades/changes, including troubleshooting, repair and training

Support Techy Joe’s Will Provide to Your Company:

Your staff will receive on-the-job training and orientation, including basic instruction on various assistive technology applications for which you will be training others, all required paperwork processes, record keeping tasks, best practices, etc. You will begin this position by shadowing/working in tandem with one of our existing team members until you are fully trained to conduct the necessary services with our clients on your own.

Techy Joe's Computer Solutions, LLC will handle many of the non-billable tasks that are required to facilitate the services that your company will provide. Our ability to handle many of the administrative tasks will allow your company to focus on providing the billable services that your company has to offer our clients.

  • Marketing the services your company will provide/meeting with clients to discuss the services offered
  • Negotiating agreements/contracts with clients

  • Processing all equipment orders, covering all cost of equipment for jobs, tracking shipments and communicating estimated delivery dates
  • Submitting job reports and other required paperwork to each entity/client
  • Answering clients questions and providing other communications

Required Education/Experience/Qualifications:

  • Ability to meet deadlines for services your company will provide
  • Creativity in finding solutions to help our clients learn and understand technology and concepts
  • Ability to analyze a challenging situation and present appropriate solutions
  • Ability to learn and use specialized assistive technology equipment and software, and stay current with changes and updates to that technology
  • Technical knowledge and expertise in the areas of repairing, troubleshooting or otherwise determining what is needed to help an individual with a disability succeed and reach their goals

Required Equipment and Tools:

Your company must own and maintain its own equipment in order to provide accurate and timely job scheduling, job reporting, job tracking, equipment tracking, internet and email access. This equipment includes:

  • A laptop computer and/or smart device (a portable device facilitates note-taking and tracking accomplishments either on-site or remotely with clients)
  • A PC laptop for providing on-site product demonstrations with clients on Windows platform applications

Required Documentation:

  • Your company must be registered with the State of Colorado as an LLC, S-Corp or C-Corp in which you are full or part owner of that company. To search for, or verify that your company is registered for Business in Colorado you can go to the Colorado Secretary of State website by following this link: http://www.sos.state.co.us/pubs/business/businessHome.html
  • Your company must have an EIN Number. Your company can apply for an EIN number by following this link: https://www.irs.gov/businesses/small-businesses-self-employed/apply-for-an-employer-identification-number-ein-online
  • All individuals within your organization/company who will be performing services for Techy Joe’s must successfully complete a background check prior to any services with our clients, the cost of which will be covered by Techy Joe’s. We will coordinate with your company regarding this formality during the contractor setup process.
  • Signed copy of Subcontractor Business Agreement provided by Techy Joe’s.
  • Signed copy of the Offer Letter provided by Techy Joe’s, which will include a general outline of the duties, responsibilities and specific compensation as agreed to by both companies for services that are approved and rendered.
  • General and Business Liability Insurance. (We can provide more information about this upon request. However, our recommendation is that your company acquires, at the very least, a business owner’s liability policy that protects the officers of your company from any legal challenges that could arise from services that you render as an officer of your company to our clients. Techy Joe’s has its own general and professional liability policy offering protection to our company. Please note that these liability protections DO NOT protect your company, officers of your company, your employees, etc. We have NEVER had any legal issues to resolve in the 20+ years in which we have been providing services to our clients, and we don’t expect that you will, either. However, in today’s business environment, it is important to protect yourself and your company legally.)

Special Notes and Considerations:

Working with someone who has a disability requires a caring, patient and flexible person who is friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the products and services that your company will represent.

Be aware that situations could occur which will require special attention and troubleshooting abilities to restore our client's technology to a working state.

Your company's availability for referrals will directly impact the number of referrals that our company can send. There is no set schedule for the number of referrals or billable hours that your company will receive.

Techy Joe’s provides no guarantees with regards to the number of billable hours that will be referred to your company.

At times, your company may need to coordinate scheduled appointments and/or services with other service providers who may be collaborating on projects in conjunction with Techy Joe’s.

Instructions will be provided prior to the start of services by your company including access to necessary resources including required signoff forms, report templates, online resources and training materials, etc.

We have no central office from which you can work; therefore, your company will provide services to our clients remotely and on-site as needed.

At times, it may be necessary for you to create step-by-step instructions for a client that are in written or audio formats as a reference.

Proper PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) must be available when delivering equipment or performing on-site services with a client. Please respect and adhere to the preferences and requests of each client regarding social distancing, sanitation and use of PPE.
