GPI is seeking a Data Technician to join the Traffic Departments' data collection team to serve as an Accident Record Reviewer (“reviewer”). The reviewer will assist with the analysis, recording and/or coding of the motor vehicle or traffic information. This work will be performed from the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT), Ewing NJ offices with limited supervision.

GPI will provide training to the reviewer regarding the NJDOT Crash Records, the NJTR-1 Reports, and NJ Safety Voyager prior to starting the position at the NJDOT. The NJDOT will also provide training on their systems. The position is for a minimum of one (1) year but could last for up to three (3) years.

Responsibilities:

  • Code, review, and analyze crash data
  • Run basic queries on the crash database
  • Track and document work on a daily basis and provide status updates
  • Report progress and coordinate with the GPI and NJDOT PM
  • Perform quality control of the crash data
  • Work with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Earth or similar imagery, Adobe Acrobat, and potentially other NJDOT programs
  • Opportunity to work with PostgreSQL
  • Generally, work a 40-hour workweek

Qualifications:

  • A High School graduate or Associate's Degree is preferred
  • 0-5 years of experience working with data
  • Programming experience is a plus
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software is required
  • Reliable transportation to access job and a valid driver’s license in good standing
  • Work from the NJDOT Ewing, NJ Offices
  • Reliable, responsible, punctual, and professional

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maintain a valid driver's license with a clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for final consideration
  • Possess a personal vehicle for use on or around a job site
  • Read, write, and understand plans and directions given in the English language
