Job description
At McKinstry, we’re proud to be a diverse and passionate group of innovators and problem-solvers, builders and engineers, mentors, and students. We believe the world needs curious, forward-thinking, solutions-oriented people who want to make our planet better. McKinstry is built on four main values Put People First, Build Trusted Partnership, Be Constantly Curious, and Make a Positive Difference. These values are interwoven into everything we do to include how we reward and inspire our people to how we care for our clients and partners.
Our Technical Services Team is looking for a dynamic Account Executive in Nevada with knowledge of our services: Active Energy Management, Commissioning, powerEd, Facility Condition Assessments, Master Systems Integration, and Transition to Sustainable Operations consulting.
McKinstry’s Technical Services group exists to build a thriving planet by creating high-performance buildings. Our goal is to change the built environment's trajectory from continuing to be a drain on our US GDP and the most significant contributor of GhG emissions to run efficiently on renewable power and turn wasted resources into prosperity. We provide highly-valued professional services focused on optimizing energy-consuming systems, asset advisory, and construction-related consulting services.
When we introduce why we work and what problems we are trying to solve, we can engage with our clients at a deeper level and move both parties onto the same side of the table to work on issues together. As a leader in the industry, it’s important for us to align on why we work because we believe in Working Together to Build a Thriving Planet. Did you know:
- Buildings use 72% of the electricity in the U.S.
- Construction only accounts for 13% of the lifecycle cost of a facility over a 40 year period
- Over 40% of our greenhouse gas emissions are from buildings
- Up to 50% of building energy use is wasted
- With the correct approach, up to 50% of a building’s construction cost can be eliminated
- 29% of the US GDP is spent on facility operations
- The US has $3.5 Trillion in deferred maintenance and code has increased efficiency requirements by 32% since 2009
Here's where you come in:
We are looking for an Account Executive to help us grow our Nevada market!
Most importantly, we need you to have a growth-mindset that brings people together, inspires teams, and delivers excellence to our clients. You should demonstrate that you’ve grown a successful business, preferably within the built environment, and have experience building relationships with clients in the municipal, higher education, and/or K-12 education markets. You should be well-versed in consulting best practices with a preference for solution sales experience. Demonstrated technical knowledge around any of our seven offerings is highly preferred.
As an Account Executive, you will support business development and sales efforts. Activities will include developing and maintaining a sales plan, account management, lead generation and opportunity development, proposal development including responding to RFPs and RFQs, and strategic guidance for our business. You will support and develop consultative relationships with potential and existing clients and utilize McKinstry tools, processes, and strategies to support these efforts. You will engage directly with the market and with all McKinstry business units for integrated delivery.
Our sales success with clients hinges on a consultative sales approach that engages clients in the issues and challenges they are facing with their facilities. If that excites you, this is the right role for you!
What we would like to see from you:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in business, engineering, construction management or equivalent business experience.
- Prior experience in building infrastructure systems, facility management, and/or facility maintenance and operations.
- Experience in leadership, sales, and/or marketing with a consulting or related organization, with responsibilities for identifying leads, closing sales, and providing oversight to a project implementation team required.
- Self-motivated, accountable, and disciplined.
Why McKinstry:
Transformational change requires bold action. We must decarbonize our buildings and energy assets to combat climate change. We must tackle the affordability crisis by innovating waste out of our supply chain and dramatically cutting costs through improved productivity. We must deliver equitable outcomes to ensure healthy, high-performing buildings for all.
People represent our most valued asset. By investing in our employees, we are also investing in the ongoing success of our company. We pride ourselves on offering a comprehensive, PeopleFirst benefits package to promote health and wellness, enhance work/life balance and ensure long-term stability for our employees and their families. Some of these benefits include:
- Competitive pay backed by 401(k) and profit-sharing plans.
- Comprehensive medical, prescription drugs, vision, and dental.
- Up to 16 weeks of paid parental leave.
- Adoption and IVF assistance.
- Paid time off.
- McKinstry University training and development.
- McKinstry wellness programs and on-site gyms.
- Community service and employee-directed charitable giving.
The pay range for this position is $74,250 - $133,500 per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered. Base pay information is based on market location.
The McKinstry group of companies are equal opportunity employers. We are committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and qualified applicants without regard to sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, race, color, creed, marital status, national origin, disability, veteran status, genetic information or any other basis protected by law. This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment including, but not limited to employment, advancement, assignment, and training. This commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity is made equally as a social responsibility and as an economic and business necessity.
McKinstry is a drug-free workplace. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol test, complying with the requirements of the Immigration Reform and Control Act and a Confidentiality Agreement, in addition to successful outcomes of background and reference checks.
Applicants for this role will only be considered if they possess current US Work Authorization, and do not require employer-sponsored VISA support to begin or remain in this role.
