About Us

Bergens Greenhouses, Inc. is located in Columbus/Forest Lake, MN; we produce, sell, and distribute bedding plants, annuals/perennials, foliage plants, fall garden mums, and blooming holiday plants (such as Poinsettias and Easter Lilies). Bergens owns and operates 40 acres of greenhouse in 3 different facilities. We have greenhouses in Detroit Lakes, Park Rapids and Columbus/Forest Lake, MN. We also produce an additional 25 acres of spring bedding plants using several network growers. We supply plants to both large and small retailers and ship our locally grown crops throughout Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Wisconsin and Iowa.

We are currently ranked the 30th largest greenhouse grower in the United States and are currently owned and operated by 4thgeneration family members and have over 250 employees. We also employ international student interns and each year have about 45 students from around the world learning hands-on state of the art agricultural skills.

The Position

We are currently looking to hire an “Account Representative” at our Columbus/Forest Lake, MN location. This position starts at $75,000 and has benefits.

Job Duties

· Candidate will work with inventory to write orders based on products available in the greenhouse.

- Work with Buyers from the Big Box stores on coordinating orders given sales history and product availability.

- Candidate will represent Bergens exclusively and assist with customer’s sales plan during all phases of planning and implementation

· Create orders for stores utilizing finished availabilities

· Compile and review sales and inventory reports to understand and communicate in-store performance

· Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customer Merchants and buying assistants

· Working closely with the production department to ensure availability of product and the right time to cover ads and seasonal expectations

· Ability to travel to attend customer meetings, line reviews and trade shows

· Communicate regularly with inventory, operations, shipping, and production personnel.

· Field store and customer calls

· Participate in seasonal forecasts for upcoming seasons

· Be familiar with other retailer strategies via store visits

· Self-motivated being able to work independently

Qualifications

· Minimum of Associates Degree

· Prior sales experience

· Proficient in Microsoft Excel

· Knowledge of product line

· Excellent communication skills

· Valid driver’s license

· Ability to travel
