G&A Partners' client is currently seeking a Program Accountant to join its team in Crest Hill, IL.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the full cycle financial process for assigned grants, which includes creation of budget to reconciliation of expenditures.
  • Ensures financial transactions are recorded in compliance with regulations as stated in CFR, OMB circulars, GAAP and FASB standards, internal policies and procedures, program guidelines, as well as adherence to approved budget, both internal and external, for all assigned programs.
  • Leads grant monitoring and audits. Supports annual financial audit and single audit as needed and ensures “audit readiness” of assigned grants.
  • Partner with federal, state grant agencies for assigned grants.
  • Provide accounting services in a computerized accrual accounting system on a timely basis for a medium-sized social service agency.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in accounting. All degrees must come from a regionally accredited educational institution which has U.S. Department of Education approval.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in accounting position; non-profit accounting, government grant management and financial analysis experience strongly preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to see the big picture while understanding the details involved and the ramifications of the decisions made.
  • Ability to present financial information and models in a concise and easily comprehensible manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply CFR, OMB circulars as well as GAAP and FASB Standards to a unique situations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, accurately, and quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively and constructively with persons from all racial, diverse cultures, family systems, and social backgrounds.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.
  • Exceptional communicator with excellent written, verbal, organizational and interpersonal communication skills; able to easily engage others.
  • Demonstrated ability to hold information confidential with excellent judgment
  • Passage of complete background clearance, physical and Tuberculosis (TB) Test.
  • Catholic Charities, Diocese of Joliet, has adopted and follows the Codes of Ethics established by Catholic Charities USA, the National Association of Social Workers and the American Psychological Association. As an employee of the Agency you are expected to support these codes to the extent doing so is consistent with and allowed by applicable law.
  • A valid driver’s license, reliable means of transportation and proof of liability insurance is required.
