JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for supporting monthly accounting period close process to include journal entries, account reconciliations, income reporting and analysis, and assessing variances between projections and actual costs on the P&L.
JOB DUTIES Assess the cause of variances between projections and actuals to improve forecasting Review monthly Departmental Financial Statements prior to dissemination and facilitates corrective action if necessary Meet
with program managers, state directors, and senior directors to review
P&L’s and identify discrepancies in line-item spending by digging
into receipts and the general ledger to identify concerns Compile data for quarterly payor reconciliations and third-party auditor’s inquiries and requests Manage payor inquiries/requests and payor relations Review revenue streams to identify potential discrepancies versus forecasts Ensure accurate reporting for sales use, SWaM, business and personal property tax, and annual unclaimed property Provide research and education to Departmental Managers regarding departmental financial transactions Complete special projects and other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance, or another
related field

Three plus years minimum accounting experience

Effective
verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information
clearly and professionally

Excellent analytical, organizational, and time management skills

Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours, if needed, to meet the job
requirements

Proficient with Excel, including the ability to do pivot tables preferred

Experience with Solomon or Workday preferred

Proficient using computers, software, and web-based applications The
incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer,
telephone, and other office equipment as needed to perform duties.
The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an
office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently
required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand,
walk, reach, bend or lift up to 20 pounds. Reasonable accommodations
