Role Value Proposition:

The Staff Accountant will assist the Senior Accountants to maintain the books and records for multiple subsidiaries(including Versant Health), provide financial analysis and meet financial statement deadlines. Responsibilities include preparing financial accounting entries, performing detailed general ledger account reconciliations, day-to-day accounting of cash transactions for entities. This role will assist with cash projections and financial analysis, budget and forecast preparation, regulatory filings and providing support for expense review analysis and monthly close narratives.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preparation and loading of monthly accounting journal entries for multiple entities.
  • Prepare expense allocations and monthly accruals.
  • Prepare cash account reconciliations including researching unrecorded activity and clearing reconciling items timely.
  • Prepare general ledger account reconciliations with supporting schedules detailing the composition of the account balances.
  • Prepare roll-forward schedules to analyze and understand account activity.
  • Prepare assigned schedules for quarterly and annual regulatory filings and providing support for general ledger transactions
  • Prepare PBC schedules for interim and annual audit. Pull samples and prepare various deliverables.
  • Other duties as assigned


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience including journal entry preparation and posting, monthly financial statement preparation, account reconciliations and financial analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge and experience in the insurance, health, or vision care industry preferred
  • Proficiency in MicroSoft Office


Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

The wage range for applicants for this position is $49,200 - 76,100. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
