Job description
Our client is looking to hire a motivated Accounting Clerk who will report directly to the Executive Staff. Their duties will include computing, classifying, and recording numerical data to keep financial records complete. And successful applicants must have Accounts Payable and Accounts Receiving experience.
This is a Temp-To-Hire position and requires reliability, an eagerness to learn, and someone who is hungry to accomplish any task assigned to them.
As this job will be in the Cannabis Industry, anyone hired must either have or be willing to get their Colorado MED Badge upon getting hired.
Responsibilities
1. Prepares financial reports and various accounting statements.
2. Accounts payable processing: gathering and matching purchase orders, packing slips, invoices, coding to accounts.
3. Posts journal entries to general ledger.
4. Generates summary sheets to be used by supervisor or auditor.
5. Processes payroll and prepares necessary payroll reports.
6. Proofs accounting reports for clerical accuracy.
7. Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements
1. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
2. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Working Environment
Majority of work will be done on-site at a Cannabis Facility but within an office setting
Experience
1. Must be over 21 years of age
2. 1-3 years of high-volume AP and AR experience
3. MS Office Suite and QuickBooks experience
4. Familiar with bookkeeping and basic accounting procedures
5. Effective communicator with internal and external partners
6. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
7. Able to work in a changing and challenging, fast-paced environment
8. Self-starter, multitasker, and problem solver
9. Excellent time management skills with a sense of urgency
10. Must have or be willing to obtain a Colorado MED badge

1. High school diploma or GED required.
2. Associate's degree or higher preferred.
