Position: Accounting & Human Resources Associate

Immediate Supervisor: Controller

General Summary of Responsibilities

The Accounting & Human Resources Associate is responsible for assisting with the daily accounting and human resources needs of the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities

Human Resources

  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Helps with the implementation of human resource services, policies, and programs
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles applicable reports
  • Maintain filing systems and executes proper record keeping practices to ensure confidentiality
  • Assists with benefits administration, including COBRA & open enrollment
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
  • Processes payroll changes and assists in payroll auditing and completion
  • Assists managers with onboarding; background checks, new hire paperwork, etc.
  • Performs audits on I9’s, employee files, insurance billings, EEOC information
  • Responsible for administering employee recognition programs
  • Assists with human resource and special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Accounting

  • Assist with general journal entries
  • Reconciles bank accounts
  • Reconciles credit card accounts
  • Generate internal and external reports from accounting systems as needed
  • Assist in resolving discrepancies and irregularities
  • Assist with month end processes and financial statement review
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Previous HR or Accounting experience preferred
  • Extremely detail oriented and organized and able to work independently and accurately under general supervision.
  • Technology and accounting systems savvy
  • Analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills, which allows for strategic data interpretation vs. simple reporting and/or processing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Team Player in an office environment
  • Superior computer skills including MS office suite and preferred HRIS experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
