Position: Accounting & Human Resources Associate
Immediate Supervisor: Controller
General Summary of Responsibilities
The Accounting & Human Resources Associate is responsible for assisting with the daily accounting and human resources needs of the organization.

Duties & Responsibilities
Human Resources
- Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
- Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals.
- Helps with the implementation of human resource services, policies, and programs
- Maintains human resource information system records and compiles applicable reports
- Maintain filing systems and executes proper record keeping practices to ensure confidentiality
- Assists with benefits administration, including COBRA & open enrollment
- Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
- Processes payroll changes and assists in payroll auditing and completion
- Assists managers with onboarding; background checks, new hire paperwork, etc.
- Performs audits on I9’s, employee files, insurance billings, EEOC information
- Responsible for administering employee recognition programs
- Assists with human resource and special projects
- Other duties as assigned
Accounting
- Assist with general journal entries
- Reconciles bank accounts
- Reconciles credit card accounts
- Generate internal and external reports from accounting systems as needed
- Assist in resolving discrepancies and irregularities
- Assist with month end processes and financial statement review
- Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Previous HR or Accounting experience preferred
- Extremely detail oriented and organized and able to work independently and accurately under general supervision.
- Technology and accounting systems savvy
- Analytic, organizational, and problem-solving skills, which allows for strategic data interpretation vs. simple reporting and/or processing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Team Player in an office environment
- Superior computer skills including MS office suite and preferred HRIS experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
