Position Summary
The Accounting Manager is a key member of the Accounting team and will manage the Accounting department at Winsted. The position requires technical skills in accounting, finance, administration, and information technology. The position will lead the accounting team, direct all month end processes and handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements.

Primary Responsibilities

Leadership

• Manage the accounting team including Billing, A/R, G/L, Payroll and Revenue Recognition
• Develop and build policies and procedures that scale with the business

Organization

• Assist in the preparation of company budgets, projections and forecasts
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal tax regulations
• Assess the company’s current accounting practices and recommend changes to ensure GAAP compliance

Processes

• Lead the monthly and year-end close processes and the preparation of accurate internal and external financial statements and all reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Responsibility for the accuracy and timeliness of the General Ledger
• Prepare weekly flash reports and weekly/monthly Key Performance Indicators
• Manage year end Audit and tax processes
• Perform various analyses and present insight and recommendations for decision making and strategic planning
• Develop internal/external information sources for business analysis
• Continuous process improvement for timely data collection and reporting
• Ad hoc reporting and analysis
• Other duties as requested

Essential Education, Skills & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 3+ years working in an accounting department
• 1+ years people management experience
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
• Detail orientated with a high degree of accuracy
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Strong communication skills
• Experience using ERP systems

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Microsoft Business Central ERP system
• Working knowledge of Jet Reporting
• Knowledge in data visualization solutions such as Tableau, PowerBI, etc.
