New Pig is searching for an Accounting Associate! We’re seeking a reliable and precise professional to join our team. This position will work with our traffic and accounting departments, respond to carrier inquiries, and much more. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the Controller.
This position works the daylight shift, onsite, at our Tipton location. $20/hour.
Responsibilities:
- Vouch/cost invoices related to shipping and transportation
- Analyze invoices for accuracy and resolve billing issues with vendors
- Perform analytical review of data and create financial reports around transportation
- Navigate through different systems throughout the day
- Assist in special projects and other accounting operations duties as needed
- Provide full backup administration for other Accounting personnel in a specific functional area (e.g. AR, AP) when needed
- Adhere to New Pig’s Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards
- All other duties as assigned or directed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related major. Equivalent combination of education/experience will be considered.
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Quick learner, eager, adaptable, personable
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing technology
- Ability to work and communicate effectively, both orally and written, with department leaders and peers
- Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Windows, Office, Word, and Excel
