PSC Group is now hiring an Accounting Supervisor to join our corporate office in Baton Rouge, LA and lead the Accounts Payable team. This position will be responsible for supervising the AP Specialists in processing vendor invoices and employee expense reports. The Supervisor will process the weekly disbursement runs, manage the expense reporting system, and provide accounting and general ledger support and analysis.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM / 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM / 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM)

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Supervise the processing of vendor invoices, check requests, and employee expense reports for payment.
  • Prepare and process weekly disbursement runs.
  • Verify vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions.
  • Research discrepancies between vendor and company records to resolve differences.
  • Perform month end close processes to include reconciling the subledger to the general ledger and developing and recording the proper accruals for unrecorded invoices.
  • Prepare 1099s and perform year-end procedures.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain systems, policies and procedures to ensure strong internal controls.
  • Perform invoice and expense report verification functions to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Hire, train, develop, and appraise staff effectively.
  • Remain current in accounting principles and best practices for accounts payable processing.
Job Qualifications:
  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree with an emphasis in Accounting required.
  • Two (2) plus years of supervisory experience in Accounts Payable.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite.
  • Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills required.
  • Strong time management & organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish goals, priorities, and expectations to obtain optimal performance.
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
  • High level attention to detail
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines on a consistent basis.
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred.
  • Possess a broad understanding and knowledge of federal, state, and local financial reporting regulations and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
  • Stable work history with good references from past employers
  • Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus.
