SUMMARY
The Accounting Supervisor supervises, and coordinates activities of accounting staff engaged in processing financial transactions and oversees activities related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general accounting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
Accounts Payable
- Review vendor invoices and expense reports for correct coding and input by Accounts Payable Clerk in accordance with JSOX procedures
- Process the payments for Concur expense reports in ADP Portal. Provide checks to A/P Clerk for distribution.
- Ensure all vendor invoices and expense reports are paid on a timely basis
- Resolve discrepancies with vendors
- Determine if vendor invoices correctly reflect sales and use tax
- Initiate stop payments on lost accounts payable checks
- Process remote deposit daily for live checks
- Prepare and file 1099 forms at year-end
- Process account payables in the absence of the Accounts Payable Clerk
- Supervise Account Payable Clerk
Accounts Receivable
- Pull lockbox and incoming wire information daily for A/R Clerk
- Review customer remittances & discrepancies in accordance with JSOX procedures
- Assist Credit personnel on customer account reconciliation inquiries
- Process account receivables in the absence of the Accounts Receivable Clerk
- Supervise Account Receivable Clerk
General Accounting
- Prepare month-end journal entries
- Reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable subledgers
- Review and provide explanation for operating expenses during month end close
- Prepare intercompany invoices to bill affiliates for expenses incurred and/or services provided
- Review intercompany invoices from affiliates for accuracy and book charges to general ledger
- Post journal entries to SAP as needed
Special Projects
- Prepare year-end and quarterly PBC (Prepared by Client) schedules in support of audits and reviews
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills
- Proven ability to supervise subordinates
- Experience with accounting systems and practices
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficiency with MS Office and Excel
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year institution in accounting or equivalent discipline desirable.
- A minimum of five (5) years of current experience in general accounting, which includes accounts payable and accounts receivable required.
- Two (2+) plus years of supervisory experience of accounting staff required.

- This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule - 3 days in office and 2 days remote
