ViaPath is seeking a Accounts Payable Manager to join our growing team. The Accounts Payable Manager will provide expertise and supervision to staff in Accounts Payable ensuring accurate and timely reporting and payment of vendor invoices while optimizing efficient use of working capital.
Responsibilities:- Manages all facets of Accounts Payable function, including vendor relations. Works with internal stakeholders to maintain adequate credit lines, negotiate favorable payment terms, and ensure early pay discounts are taken as earned
- Works closely with management to establish and follow a monthly close schedule for the Accounts Payable group
- Manages cash flows for weekly cash disbursements and provide disbursement details to management for review and approval. Upon approval, processes payments from the ERP system
- Maintains up-to-date electronic vendor records in the ERP system complete with copy of Form W-9, current remittance addresses, and ACH or Fed wire payment instructions
- Promotes excellent working relationships between vendor companies and the Accounts Payable staff
- Provides training and assistance to staff needed to meet vendor requests in a satisfactory and timely fashion
- Works closely with management to ensure internal controls designed to minimize potential losses to the company are up-to-date, properly communicated, and are being adhered to
- Hires, trains, motivates, and evaluates A/P specialist direct reports. Always provides adequate coverage in the department to prevent interruption in service to both employees (internal customers) as well as third party expense and supply vendors
- Adheres to GAAP accounting standards by making sure invoices are entered in the correct accounting period, and in a timely fashion, to meet the month-end reporting schedule
- Demonstrates and applies sufficient accounting knowledge needed to determine and assess financial impacts of A/P invoice coding. Advises management when new accounts may be needed for proper financial reporting
- Prepares timely and accurate reconciliation of G/L accounts related to A/P, including vendor aging, prepaid purchases, prepaid expenses, and accrual reserves. Makes corrections in timely manner as errors are discovered, minimizing financial reporting impacts
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Operations, or related field preferred or equivalent years of work experience in lieu of a degree
- 8+ years of full cycle accounts payable experience with 3 of those years managing a multi-person team
- Experience as an AP Manager/Sr Manager in a technology company preferred
- Strong understanding of accounting standards and GAAP
- Experience in advance account reconciliation
- Ability to meet deadlines including month-end close timeline schedules
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team environment, prioritize job duties, and meet assigned deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills with the ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization
- History of successfully implementing/integrating systems
- Experience building out processes, procedures, and workflows that enable sustainable scaling of business
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with D365 and ServiceNow preferred
