Job Description
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for all facets of the Accounts Payable process in line with all aspects of compliance and relevant responsibilities in the FSSC process model. Verifies calculations, checks or allocates codes, checks or obtains information for incorrect or incomplete documents, and establishes and maintains the accounting and fiscal policies and controls.
Job Responsibilities:
- Review invoices for proper purchase orders, coding, and authorization.
- Key vendor and inter-company AP invoices.
- Generate checks according to the business calendar and emergency manual checks as required.
- Respond to vendor payment inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Create and maintain vendor files.
- Compile and organize 1099 information to satisfy filing requirements.
- Create and maintain document files.
- Provide support for other business functions
- Assist the accounting team and other departments when needed.
- Ensure field office personnel follow existing accounting policies and procedures.
- Handle other tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
- Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Business, or related discipline.
- 3+ years of recent experience in high volume, full-cycle Accounts Payable processing.
- Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel (formulas, pivot tables, and V-lookups)
- Familiar with modern office methods, practices, procedures, and equipment, as well as filing systems and business letter writing and competent in correct English usage, grammar, spelling, punctuation, and arithmetic.
- Experience with accounting software (SAP, Deltek Vision, MS Dynamics-GP, etc.)
