The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for assessing and processing accounts payable transactions. Manage multiple client's portfolios, volume of transactions processed approximately 100 invoices monthly.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Prepares and processes vendor invoices, check requests, and credit memos for payment
• Resolves invoice discrepancies
• Reviews vendor statements for outstanding invoices and resolves vendor inquiries and disputes
• Performs and validates the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) matching process for new vendors
• Processes and distributes weekly check runs
• Processes payments and posts ACH payments
• Assists in the year-end IRS Form 1099-MISC/1099-NEC reporting process
• Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Excellent verbal and written communications
• Familiarity with accounts payable software
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Accurate and attentive to detail
• Team oriented
• Knowledge of accounting practices and procedures

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

AA in Accounting or Business and 2-3 years previous accounts payable experience or an equivalent combination of education and training
