JOB FUNCTION/ PURPOSE

The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for processing billing adjustments and assisting with the reconciliation of customer accounts.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Timely posting of all cash receipts
• Process monthly accounts receivable statements
• Prepare TAP deposits
• Maintain accounts receivable filing system
• Evaluates customers credit worthiness, places credit holds, etc.
• Reconcile month-end cash reports
• Verifies and posts details of business transactions such as fund disbursed and totals accounts to ledgers or computer spreadsheets/databases
• Process customer invoices
• Resolve invoicing and collection issues
• Computes and records charges, refunds, cost of lost or damaged goods, freight charges, rentals and similar items
• Prepares sales and use tax returns when due
• Responsible for preparation of monthly inter-company billings
• Responsible for the billing and posting of billing transactions
• Understands and adheres to all company health and safety procedures as they relate to essential job functions

QUALIFICATIONS

• Good verbal and written communications
• Familiarity with accounts receivable software
• Experience with Microsoft Excel
• Effective time management and organizational skills
• Accurate and attentive to detail
• Team oriented
• Knowledge of basic accounting skills

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

AA in Accounting or Business and 1-3 years previous accounts receivable experience or an equivalent combination of education and training
