We serve the students of Houston, Texas, the 4th largest city across the United States. THE ROLE
- Planning, implementing, and managing all required ACE program activities (academic, enrichment, family services, college/career, and behavior intervention) in collaboration with school administration and in alignment with regular school day and campus priorities;
- Recruiting highest-need students and their immediate family members to participate in the program;
- Assuring regular student participation by monitoring attendance and taking steps to ensure student participation objectives are met or exceeded;
- Assuring ACE program operational requirements are met or exceeded each semester by working with campus leaders to not cancel scheduled ACE program and makeup any missed hours due to unforeseen circumstances;
- Recruiting, training, and overseeing afterschool staff including paraprofessionals, teachers, and contractors to ensure high-quality programming;
- Facilitating ongoing communication and collaboration between the school and the program;
- Facilitating ongoing communication and collaboration between the program and community organizations and services;
- Monitoring ACE program budget expenditures for assigned campus;
- Monitoring program to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements;
- Overseeing the collection, coordination, and entry of data into YES Prep and TEA databases;
- Organizing and overseeing ACE program supplies, materials, equipment, and transportation;
- Assisting ACE Project Director with progress and evaluation reports and continuation application
- Maintaining all required grant documentation and assist in annual Key Task Assessment document audit and site visit;
- Attending all required meetings, conferences, and trainings;
- Additional duties as assigned.
THE PERSON
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year educational institution
- Excellent project management and communication skills
- Belief in and commitment to the mission and core value of YES Prep Public Schools
- Openness to giving and receiving frequent feedback
- Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
- Ability to work urgently in a fast-paced and results-oriented environment
- Creates and maintains positive working relationships on a team and/or in a highly collaborative environment

THE NICE TO HAVES
- Team management and experience with grants and fiscal management
- Experience with at-risk youth, afterschool programs, or classroom management
- Spanish language skills/proficiency
- Compensation – This position is an exempt, salaried position; offers commensurate with experience and grant parameters.
Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $10 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
Retirement Plans – Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and a 457 Retirement Plan.
- Paid Time Off – Employees working 20+ hours a week receive 15 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar.
