A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN ACQUISITION LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST
As an Acquisition Logistics Management Specialist, you play a crucial role in our high-visibility aviation program. You help us effectively execute the army's integrated logistics support (ILS), which aims to create systems that last longer and require less support. To this end, you seek out, negotiate, and finalize contracts with a variety of organizations that furnish products, services, construction, or research to the federal government. Once a contract is awarded, you do your utmost to ensure compliance and to resolve any problems that occur between the contract's various parties. When the need arises, you terminate contracts but only after careful analysis and negotiation.
In addition to your contract management duties, you analyze costs and accounting data to ensure that we are helping the government receive a bang for its buck. The government's socioeconomic goals are of huge concern to you, and you keep a particular eye on how our policies and procedures affect small and disadvantaged businesses. Acquisitions are another of your important concerns. You hone our strategies and manage procurements in a way that keeps costs low while optimizing the return. QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ACQUISITION LOGISTICS MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST

- 12+ years of experience
