Western Home is seeking a highly motivated and creative Activities Coordinator in Madrid, IA (Cedars Assisted Living) that will truly love what they do and love where they work. - Provide inspirational resources and ideas to staff for group and 1:1 interactions
- Develop, implement and revise activity service plans in collaboration with members of your team.
- Create individualized activity plans for individualized preferences and comfort levels.
- Assist residents with activity sessions, reminiscence support, encouragement and engaging interactions.
- Chart resident interactions throughout shift and communicate efficiently with the members of your team
- Ensures that resident’s rights are adhered to
- Associates degree in related field of study
- (Preferred) Minimum of two-year's experience with specialized dementia programming
- (Preferred) Experience with developing leisure plans for seniors.
- CPR certified, or willing to achieve.
- Valid Iowa Drivers License and willingness to obtain chauffeur's license
- Ability to be patient deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public.
- Strong commitment to serving others
- Effective communication, both verbal and written
- Must be able to read, write and speak fluent English
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays, as required
- Dependable -- more reliable than spontaneous
- Adaptable/flexible -- enjoys doing work that requires frequent shifts in direction
- Detail-oriented -- focus' on the details of work
- Creative-- Can provide innovative experiences to the people around them
