Job Description:
The AM Engineer will be responsible of supporting the well-functioning of the 3D printers in development at San Diego and providing support occasionally to the 3D printers at Turbotec production facility in Turbotec, Tijuana. The AM engineer will also be responsible for supporting printing parameters for the LPBF process and being in constant communication with engineering groups to ensure parts meet the design intend. This position will report to the AM Value Stream Manager at Harbor Drive, San Diego.
The activities for the AM engineer include (but not limited to):

Work closely with current process engineer who leads efforts to develop printing parameters for LPBF (Laser Powder Bed Fusion) process

Provide Feedback for Engineering Groups while parts are moving through the process of designing for Additive Manufacturing

Create Build Files in support of production / development LPBF projects

Technical Troubleshooting of the LPBF process / printing machine failure modes

Work closely with the AM technology group in support of new technology and process
Minimum Qualifications:
-
2 years of Manufacturing Engineering experience

Engineering Bachelors Degree (welding, mechanical, etc)

Experience with designing parts in 3D CAD software (preferably CREO)

Experience with Materialize Magics Software
Preferred:
-
Understanding of cause & effect of LPBF parameter adjustments

Experience with the LPBF process
-
Deep Understanding of Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) Principles

Compensation & Benefits
Base salary for this role ranges from $129,233.00 to 193,849.00. The actual salary will be based on experience. The total rewards package, beyond base salary includes:
