Summary
The Student Innovation Center (SICTR) at Iowa State University seeks applicants for an Administrative Assistant II who provides administrative and clerical support for the Center directors, staff, and facility.
Responsibilities of this position include performing a variety of administrative support activities; preparing minutes, notices, agendas, and correspondence; conducting moderately complex research; gathering data, creating spreadsheets, and preparing reports; arranging and scheduling in‐person and online meetings; procuring supplies and services as directed; making travel reservations and itineraries; participating in regularly scheduled team meetings; editing documents for grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors; supporting and maintaining administrative standards, processes, and procedures; providing customer service and communicating with students, occupants, faculty, staff, and visitors to the Center; providing event support as needed; scheduling rooms, events, and tours as needed; working cooperatively with and providing support to the Center staff and occupants.
The successful candidate will have excellent attention to detail, a positive attitude, and great customer service. The successful candidate will possess strong time management, data management, organizational, and communication skills. Strong knowledge of university policies, procedures, and systems and use of computerized spreadsheets and surveys are necessary to be successful in the position. All staff members are expected to interact collegially, maintain the highest standards of integrity and ethics and support the university’s Principles of Community.

- Able to resolve most problems and issues and respond to requests without escalation
- Provides guidance to students
- May provide supervision to one to two other staff or lead a small work team
