    About the Position:

    Saint Ignatius High School, a highly successful Jesuit college preparatory school for young men in Cleveland, Ohio, is seeking an administrative assistant to support the mission of Saint Ignatius High School by providing administrative and secretarial duties for and with the Assistant Principal for Student Discipline (AP). Through a collaborative team approach, a qualified candidate will provide direct and indirect support to students through a variety of programs and duties, including establishing and maintaining attendance and disciplinary records, compiling reports and their distribution, database management, special event planning and coordination, and responding to all internal and external inquiries. This position is a full-time, 10-month position working through the school year and reports directly to the AP for Student Discipline.

    Primary Areas of Responsibility :

    • Daily collection, input, and maintenance of student attendance data in compliance with state laws and school rules
    • Daily management of student discipline records
    • Weekly compilation of disciplinary reports and correspondence for families, faculty, and counselors
    • Coordinates student bus ticket program in conjunction with Cleveland Metropolitan School District bus ticket distribution
    • Creates a welcoming, friendly, helpful environment and provides high quality service and assistance to all students, parents, teachers, staff, and visitors to the AP's office
    • Responds to inquiries from a variety of internal and external sources for the purpose of providing information, facilitating communication among parties and/or providing direction
    • Monitors students referred for illness or disciplinary action for the purpose of ensuring student welfare and maintaining a secure office environment
    • Administers first aid prescription medications to students as required due to the unavailability of a nurse for the purpose of meeting immediate health care needs within established guidelines
    • Perform other duties assigned



    Qualifications :
    • Associate Degree in Office Administration, Administrative Assistance, or Office Systems Technology preferred
    • 2-3 years’ experience in student based or customer service setting
    • 2-3 years’ clerical experience in an office setting, educational office experience preferred
    • Knowledge of standard clerical procedures and office operations, including proper telephone and e-mail etiquette
    • Significant comfort level with various software applications, including but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Google Docs etc.

    About Saint Ignatius High School:

    Saint Ignatius High School, which opened its doors September 6, 1886, is a Jesuit college-preparatory school. The school enrolls more than 1,400 young men who hail from 92 cities in an 11-county region. Located in close proximity to downtown Cleveland in the vibrant and energetic Ohio City neighborhood, the school occupies 23 acres and includes 19 buildings and three athletic fields.
