POSITION SUMMARY:

The Adventure Guides Coordinator will report directly to the Executive Director. The coordinator will assist in the overall operations of the program. Specific responsibilities include building relationships with families; recruiting and training volunteers to assume leadership roles, and growing the program through retention and acquisition of new participants through meaningful relationships, and quality experiences. The program requires the coordinator to facilitate meetings either in person, or via zoom, multiple evenings per month. Leadership and facilitation of 2-3 weekend events per month is also required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• With the assistance of the Executive Director, this position will direct and oversee all Adventure Guides program operations at multiple branches
• Develop and implement innovative approaches to promote and increase program participation and retention.
• Recruit, retain and train volunteers
• Schedule meetings, lead meetings and ensuring everyone has an exceptional experience
• Lead and administer all Adventure Guides programs
• Create positive, lasting memories for all program participants, staff and volunteers.
• Participates in staff meetings and/or related meetings.
• Attend meetings, online webinars, and trainings.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Visual and auditory ability to observe and to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency situation; Ability to lead and interact in group activities and perform related physical skills; Ability to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Ability to climb, push, and pull; Ability to lift and carry objects up to 20 pounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience working with youth
• Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with individuals at all employee levels is required.
• CPR and First aid required within first 90 days
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to multi-task is required.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule, with frequent evening and weekend work
• Bilingual (Spanish) a plus
