Deffet Group, Inc., is pleased to have been retained by Episcopal Retirement Services to conduct an executive search for an Affordable Living Controller.
Based in Cincinnati, Ohio, Episcopal Retirement Services (ERS) is a faith-based, not-for-profit provider of senior housing and services that has worked to improve the lives of older adults since 1951. Today, the organization serves older adults through its three premier senior living communities as well as in-home and community-based services, offering a variety of senior living options that include independent living, assisted living, assisted living with memory support, long-term nursing care, and short-term rehabilitation. Annual revenue is $58 million.
ERS’s Affordable Living communities offer rent-subsidized, affordable senior living and provide a variety of options and services not often found in communities for seniors with limited incomes. ERS Affordable Living follows the philosophy of, “Older adults should live with dignity and comfort in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment, no matter their financial situation.” This is evident in its low-income retirement communities located throughout the Cincinnati area and multiple additional locations in Ohio, as well as Indiana and Kentucky.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Affordable Living Controller’s primary purpose is to organize and direct all system accounting activities for its 30 affordable living communities. The Affordable Living Controller will formulate and implement the financial plans and policies of ERS to ensure the availability of funds needed to meet operating requirements and implement strategic plans. The position is accountable for both the current and long-term effectiveness of all financial functions within ERS, including accounting, financial analysis, and budgeting.
The successful candidate for this position will have a bachelor’s degree and at least five years’ experience in either the Accounting or Finance field. Experience with affordable housing and non-profit accounting is preferred. They will possess effective management and communication skills, work harmoniously with other personnel, and be able to make independent decisions.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
