Tutor Doctor Hawaii – the leading education company that’s all about tailored tutoring solutions – is hiring After-School Tutors for Middle School Students (Grades 6-8)! Our instructors take the time to understand the way students learn and adapt their techniques to coincide with their needs. We want instructors who can build relationships with students and the schools they support by helping students feel comfortable and cared for during sessions and keeping open communication for schools and organizations.

Our Tutors are assigned to support students in specific schools during pre-established times during the school year.

• Paid preparation and administrative times are included
• Bonuses are earned at the end of the semester and based on student progress and attendance
• Materials and training provided

Position and Duties

If you like what you’re reading so far, we are currently hiring After-School Tutors for Middle School Students (Grades 6-8) who can capably handle all relative core subjects – Homework help and supplemental tutoring for math, reading comprehension, creative writing, science and social studies.

As an After-School Tutor, you can be relied upon to:

• Arrive timely with reliable attendance
• Attend scheduled training sessions
• Effectively tutor small groups of students if needed (5:1 ratio)
• Come to each session prepared to cover scheduled material

Qualifications

As a After-School Program Tutor, you are someone who has:

• Proficiency in tutoring and reviewing all content related to middle school subjects (6-8)
• Graduated from or is currently enrolled in post-secondary education (graduates and undergraduates)
• Previous teaching/tutoring/mentoring/coaching experience would be great, especially exposure to different learning styles (formal or informal)
• Be comfortable tutoring in a classroom environment managing a group of students

Successful candidates:

• This is a Part-time position. Candidates need to have the following availability:
• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday & Friday 2:45 pm - 4:15 pm
• Wednesday 1:40 pm - 3:10 pm
• Must be a current resident of Oahu, Hawaii
• Must have reliable transportation
• Must be open to completing a criminal background check
