Gemstar is currently seeking a Afternoon/Evening Production Team Leader to join our team in Cannon Falls, MN. The minimum starting pay is $25.45 per hour with additional pay based on experience. Benefits start in less than 30 days!

Purpose Statement

To support the goals and vision of Gemstar Manufacturing by leading front line product line operations with responsibilities for safety, quality, delivery, cost, member development, maintenance, and continuous improvement.


Essential Functions


Acts as a resource for assigned departments/areas by providing employee support, work direction, training, recruiting support and employee development opportunities for all reports. Consistently flexes and provides leadership to meeting the company’s needs. Acts as back up in areas of the plant or area of responsibility.


  • Reviews and coordinates daily production requirements including safety, quality, delivery and cost with department/s, other leads, and supervisor. Leads team to ensure daily requirements are completed to deliver an outstanding product to Gemini customers.
  • Coordinates staffing and scheduling for assigned department(s). Assists in determining need for overtime. Schedules vacations for employees.
  • Completes a variety of production records and reports as may be required of the department.
  • Develops and supports our culture of trust, respect and empowerment in all employees.
  • Provides leadership to personnel to effectively utilize the talents, experience and training of department resources.
  • Trains new employees and works with them to develop skills and job proficiency. Trains employees on approved standard procedures
  • Champions’ Lean improvements through the building. Fosters a department culture to empower and engage team mates to make improvements to areas as needed. May work with outside vendors and attend trainings and trade shows to increase knowledge.
  • Observes and evaluates work performed by employees to ensure that individual and teamwork performance is acceptable by standards set by the company. Coaches employees on strengths and areas for improvements. Assists employees with development areas.
  • Assists in the appraisal of performance of department personnel and may make recommendations to ensure that each employee is properly compensated for work performed in accordance with established policy.
  • Works with sales and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Works on professional development with supervisor to continue to grow and learn.
  • Utilizes ISO standards and Gemstar’s quality management system to drive business results.
  • Utilizes Gemstar systems including; Job Boss, Unipoint, and Dozuki.
  • May perform other reasonably similar lead duties as assigned.


Qualifications - Skills and Abilities

  • Proven leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Familiar with problem solving tools.
  • Ability to influence and adapt to continuous improvement driven changes.
  • Has the skills to fill in or back up in areas of responsibility.


Qualifications – Education & Experience


  • High School Diploma or GED, or demonstrated equivalency of education and work experience
  • Experience leading projects intended to engage and empower team members.
  • 3 or more years’ experience in production environment preferred.
  • Experience with Job Boss, Unipoint and Dozuki preferred.
  • Technical understanding of processes in the scope of the lead position preferred.
