A Day In The Life of an Operations Manager

The position you are applying for leads the assembly operations of the company including control surfaces, electrical assembly, subassembly, wings, and final aircraft assembly. This position, along with the Operations Manager – Backshops, replaces the VP of Manufacturing role. You will be directly reporting to the company’s CEO.

Essential Duties of The Operations Manager

• Managing the assembly departments listed above.
• Delivering a quality product, on-time at standard cost.
• Hiring and developing team members, ensuring adequate training, maintaining a safe work environment, and increasing efficiency.
• Improving tooling, material supply, inventory accuracy, planning, and other support processes.
• Working with program management, purchasing, operations, quality, and finance to manage related processes.
• Developing policies, procedures, and processes to improve departmental performance.
• Work with the broader team to ensure aircraft quality meets customer expectations.
• Ramp up production to meet increasing market requirements.
• Analyze data, determine root cause and corrective actions, develop executable plans for improvement, and manage related programs.

Minimum Requirements

• More than 3 years of relevant experience
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and oral
• Must work well with teams

Preferred Requirements

• Ag aircraft assembly operations experience
• Experience working with SAP
• College degree in a related field
