Summary:
To provide general manual labor under direct supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Operates light vehicles and equipment in various airport operations (snow removal, mowing, etc.).
- Performs light, minor vehicle and equipment repair, and preventative maintenance.
- Secures, inspects and opens building for use.
- Conducts safety, security, and airfield inspections as prescribed by Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and other procedures.
- Serves as the second responder in emergencies.
- Complies with safety standards and airport procedures.
- Performs general airport operations.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Michigan driver's license and good driving record. Knowledge of traffic laws, safety rules, and accident prevention practices. Ability to understand and follow oral or written instructions. Subject to FAA and Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations. Must pass a fingerprint-based criminal history records check.
Experience: Airport experience and knowledge of operations preferred. Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively with minimal supervision. Emergency overtime may be required of those present at the facility.
