Basic Functions:

Responsible for the academic progress of students; promotes good attendance rates and ensures school safety; handles all disciplinary issues on a day-to-day basis. Additionally, supports the teaching staff by developing classroom management programs, identifying students with attendance issues or disciplinary problems and addresses those issues with parents to create a positive outcome.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Committed to raising student achievement
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with students, staff, parents, and community to achieve educational goals
  • Student discipline and attendance, including the determination and assignment of appropriate corrective action
  • Function as a team member and a team leader
  • Maintain open communication with parents and alternative teachers regarding discipline issues, attendance, and academic issues
  • Supervision of cafeteria, arrival, and dismissal of students during the school day
  • Supervision of the building and grounds during regular school hours
  • Meet with the alternative teachers and building administration bi-weekly
  • Work with the alternative teachers and counselors regarding the implementation of a conflict resolution team
  • Work with outside agency and community partnerships
  • Completion of all other duties assigned by the building principal/assistant principal


Qualifications:

Three years of teaching experience and completion of administrative license with strong knowledge of effective instructional strategies in the following areas:

Requirements:

  • Minimum of Master’s Degree
  • Indiana Secondary Administration & Supervision Certificate
  • Three (3) years of combined teaching and/or administrative experience


Physical Requirements:

Candidate should be physically capable of successfully performing the essential functions of the position.
