FEMA Corps, a program within AmeriCorps NCCC, provides you with life experience and skills in the field of emergency management while you lead a team of 18-26 year olds, earn money for college, travel, and help communities! The mission of AmeriCorps NCCC is to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team-based national and community service. Training for our Summer 2023 FEMA Corps will be held out our Pacific Region campus. Here is what you can expect during your service: -Serve full-time for 11 months -Lead a team of 8-12 young adults -Work closely with FEMA professionals in the sector of emergency management -Deploy to 4-6 projects across the country (transportation provided) Next steps: - Complete an application by clicking the “Apply Now!” button below. Member Duties : You will lead a team through administrative service in the areas of logistics, community relations, individual and public assistance, planning, preparedness, and recovery activities. Your team could be conducting data entry, mapping disaster evacuation routes, or helping sign up survivors for assistance, so adaptability is key! As a Team Leader, you will be crucial to your team’s success. You’ll be responsible for directing, motivating, and mentoring a diverse team of young people. FEMA and NCCC staff will look to you for coordination of project logistics. Gain invaluable supervisory experience, challenge yourself, and get a foot in the door to work for the federal government.
