Overview:

The Jr. Medical Informatics Analyst provides support to the Business Analyst and assigned department in analyses and research. The position provides analytic reports on a regular and ad hoc basis that assist the assigned department in identifying clinical outcomes and quality of care problems, operational data and financial data. Tracking specified patients, processes and conditions that assist in the clinical management of these patients, operational performance, supporting quality improvement projects and initiatives, measuring outcomes of programmatic interventions which include financial analyses, and for other purposes. The position supports extracting and utilizing data from the AltaMed data warehouse, which includes the performance measures reporting system: standard reports, basic statistical analyses, data quality control, and basic database structure.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Business Intelligence Analyst on the delivery of project/report requests from involved business units.
  • Works with involved business units to enable accurate, consistent, and timely tabulation and reporting for both internal and external purposes, whether the data is mined manually or system generated.
  • Documents and assembles requirements to generate reports, charts, scorecards, dashboards, forecasts for business use.
  • Formats data extracted from data warehouse into user friendly presentations complete with definitions and explanations of collection methods.
  • Trains business unit users in ad-hoc report development and supports business unit users in ad-hoc reporting questions.
  • Assists in the production and maintenance of performance reporting for financial, risk and operational functions.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree required or minimum of 5 years of experience in related field. Master’s degree preferred in public health, business, health administration, statistical sciences, or computer sciences.
  • 0-2 years of experience required working with population-based data and reporting, preferably in a managed care setting involving Medicare and Medicaid programs.
