Juniper Networks has an immediate opening for a team-oriented, highly effective and self-motivated individual to support the Global Service Provider Architecture team. Architects are part of the Juniper GTM Team and have a primary responsibility to partner with the CTO office, PLM, and engineering on driving technical sales activities for opportunities in forward-looking and emerging technologies as well as new network evolutions. Architects possess in-depth, hands-on expertise with Juniper's products, solutions as well as other opensource or 3rd party technologies which complement Juniper’s vision in SP space. Architects work closely with CTO office on path-finding missions and develop POCs and customer demonstrations on upcoming solutions. Architects are well known in the industry and participate in talks as well as standardization activities (IETF, GSMA, ORAN etc.).

The specific role is for a customer chief architect for a large Tier-1 service provider in the US. The successful candidate will be the technical lead for all Juniper solutions at the T1-SP across all the software and hardware portfolio. The role requires presenting to the executive level decision-makers on next generation technologies as well as a strong coordination with Juniper’s senior leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

A successful candidate will meet all of these requirements:

  • Experience working in a pre-sales role selling networking equipment or network solutions
  • Ability to communicate, both oral and written, on complex technical and sales issues to a variety of audiences, including executive-level technical decision-makers
  • Ability to make and communicate relevant connections between proposed technical solutions and customers' business requirements.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of how to build successful relationships between an equipment manufacturer and a channel partner or reseller
  • 15+ years relevant industry experience in mobility, wireline and SDN domains. The candidate should have experience in multiple of the following technical domains
  • Expert level and hands-on knowledge of designing large scale IP/MPLS based Access/Metro/Edge and Core SP networks
  • 5G RAN and Core architectures including O-RAN
  • Private LTE/5G solutions for enterprises
  • Expert level and hands-on knowledge of SDN environments including Overlay protocols such as MP-BGP,EVPN and tunneling technologies such as VXLAN, MPLS (SR) or SRv6
  • Virtualization technologies on x86 and scaling using technologies such DPDK, SR-IOV, SmartNICs etc.
  • Containers and Container related technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes and Container networking (Flannel, Calico, Canal, OVN, Weave etc.)
  • Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of Openstack, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, Azure, Multi-Cloud or equivalent cloud orchestration in private and public cloud
  • Data Center networking with deep understanding of large underlay Leaf and Spine based clos networks.
  • SDN expert with in-depth understanding of product features, use cases, positioning, and configuration in many of the following products or product categories:
  • Juniper Contrail Cloud, Contrail Edge Cloud, Contrail Enterprise Multicloud, Contrail Networking, Contrail Security
  • Network Provisioning & Automation (Apstra, Juniper Paragon, Anuta or equivalent competitive products)
  • Opensource activities like Magma, Tungsten Fabric, ONAP etc.
  • Network Monitoring on Junos, Netconf/Rest APIs, YANG
  • Underlay leaf & Spine Juniper QFX switches, Cisco Nexus switches, or Arista switches
  • Juniper ACX,MX,PTX Series routers or equivalent competitor products
  • Public Cloud solutions : AWS, Azure, GCP
  • Open Networking switch hardware (white box) and related software (Cumulus, BigSwitch, Pica8)
  • Knowledge of merchant silicon technologies (Trident, Tomahawk, Jericho, etc.)
  • Formal or informal technical sales leadership or mentoring is desired
  • Certifications such as JNCIE , CKA/CKD, AWS etc. are desired

Minimum Salary: $213,312.00

Maximum Salary:$306,636.00

The pay range for this position is expected to be between $213,312.00 and $306,636.00/year; however, the base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes medical benefits, 401(k) eligibility, vacation, sick time, and parental leave. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Juniper’s pay range data is provided in accordance with local state pay transparency regulations. Juniper may post different minimum wage ranges for permanent residency petitions pursuant to US Department of Labor requirements.
