Job description
The Area Group Revenue Analyst will assist in the day-to-day operations of the department, working hand in hand with the VP of revenue management and the Area Director of Sales to meet group revenue goals. The Group Revenue Analyst will be responsible for ensuring that revenue is capitalized in all revenue centers across the group, by means of thorough analysis and review, and the implementation of techniques and strategies, as necessary.
Work Responsibilities
- Creating selective sale guidelines and floor rates for group. Develop, monitor, and adjust group sales and pricing strategies.
- Space yielding and maximizing group opportunity.
- Development and implementation of effective inventory management and pricing strategies for all market segments and yield management of meeting space.
- Ensure that a strategic mix of business and pricing strategies are set for each hotel based on market conditions.
- Increasing THRM through group room contribution.
- Creating and adjusting catering free sell guidelines.
- Implementing, maintaining, and communication special events, city-wide, and high demand dates in all revenue related systems.
- Develop strategies and tactics to optimize total hotel revenue across all revenue generating areas.
- Identify future market trends and hotel opportunities, and coordinate with Marketing, Sales, Catering and Operations.
- Assist in managing group thresholds and inventory.
- Reviewing and assigning targeted accounts in the competitive set.
- Ensure the optimization of group sales rate and selling strategies across all hotels.
- Assist with group rooms, banquet, and catering forecasting and budgeting with accuracy.
- Lead weekly group rooms audit meeting.
- Lead group daily business review meetings.
- Participate in Revenue Management meetings.
- Reporting as necessary for the purposes of analysis/feedback.
- Partner with the Area Director of Sales for group room forecasting.
- Partner with the Area Director of Events for Banquet and Catering forecasting
- Ability to always maintain confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Role model of hospitality; contributing to a positive department and company culture.
- Proven abilities in a demanding environment.
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively.
Qualifications
- 2 year or 4-year college degree
- Two years hotel experience in revenue, front desk, sales, or reservations
- Will consider equivalency of education and experience
- Experience with Opera property management system preferred but not required
- Experience with Ideas revenue management system preferred but not required
- Experience with Wyndham, Hilton, and IHG revenue systems preferred but not required
- Brand experience preferred but not required
- Excellent grammar, speech, spelling, and communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of computer systems
- Extreme accuracy with numbers
- Knowledge of hotel budgets preferred
- General forecasting skills
