Overview: Strata Clean Energy owns a portfolio of close to 1GW of solar power and energy storage assets in what we refer to as our Independent Power Producer division and is seeking an Asset Management Specialist to join our dynamic team responsible for managing these assets as the portfolio continues to grow. This role works closely with a small Asset Management team as well as other key stakeholders in Strata’s Finance and Operations & Maintenance departments to carry out the responsibilities listed. While no prior experience is needed, we’re seeking a candidate who’s a quick learner with an interest in diving deep into new topics to help drive department capabilities. Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Track and review asset performance data and collaborate with the Operations & Maintenance teams to recommend corrective actions justified by revenue loss.
- Manage the key datasets for different investor and lender portfolios that are used across the department.
- Maintain communication and solid working relationships between our team and stakeholders in the solar projects, landowners from whom we lease land, utilities that run the grids we’re connected to, and regulatory bodies such as the Energy Information Administration.
- Lead and support the generation of regularly scheduled deliverables such as monthly reports and investor compliance certificates to meet contractual requirements.
- Prepare and submit periodic regulatory reports.
- Create cost-benefit analyses for potential asset repair or improvement expenditures.
- Join conference calls with investors and lenders to summarize asset performance and answer questions about their portfolios.
- Monitor project and fund bank accounts and reconcile cash balances to maximize cash available to the company and maintain contractual requirements.
- Support the ideation and implementation of our department’s long-term strategic initiatives.
- Conduct visits of North Carolina projects occasionally to visually assess their condition and document any issues.
- Partner with other Strata departments as needed to ensure key activities are completed.
Qualifications: Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
Education:
- Four-year Bachelor’s degree required; Finance or Renewable Energy focus
- Beginning understanding of renewables, structured finance, contracts, and business preferred.
- Demonstrated initiative in learning technical concepts and new systems preferred.
- Excellent written communication, organization, and time management
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Work is performed primarily in an office environment with some tasks assigned at outdoor solar plant sites.
- Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a
- 20/40 vision in each eye, with or without correction and ability to distinguish
- Ability to wear full complement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when visiting solar sites is
- Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver’s
